The reason to be upset about ChatComm

A clarification about Mrs. Mc Quaig's letter regarding her EMS Call was printed in the Crier.

But, for the rest of the story..

We are in a contractual agreement for services with ChatComm.
Those services were not provided by ChatComm yet another contract was given to the City Council at the retreat for partnership/continued service for 5 years for approval.

Since Dunwoody's agreement with ChatComm in 2011 a system called CAD to CAD was to be used to dispatch  Fire/EMS calls.
Despite Dunwoody continued financial support to get the system working as of today CAD to CAD DOES NOT WORK.

This is important, Mrs. McQuaig would have had her EMS dispatched quickly. That is why we need our own 911. Doraville and Chamblee already operate 911 system for their citizens.
THE MC QUAIG CALL
Police should have been dispatch, short of breath could be heart attack, Police was told another entity was responding.

ChatComm services other areas in Fulton so they have to check the address and dispatch to Dekalb.
Have you ever had to wait in an ER because a Heart Attack arrived  for care? The phone lines are the same No one can predict when the calls will come in. THE CITY KNOWS THIS. THAT IS WHY THERE IS A CONTINGENCY PLAN. ChatComm is to start interrogation after 13 seconds so Dekalb does not have to when they get on the line to speed the process.
IT IS IN THE PROCEDURES for Dunwoody calls answered by Chatcomm.  Again it was not done.

Remember the contract is at a time of renewal. Not only is CAD to CAD not working Are they following procedures in place? Not on this call.
So if Chief Grogan looked into the call, he knew ....no police was dispatch, no interrogation was started and completed, YES 1minute and 1 second transfer is a fast transfer according to the Chief. We actually are striving for less Chief. WHY WOULD A CITY EMPLOYEE FEEL COMPELLED TO CRITICIZE A CITIZEN FOR STATING THE FACTS ABOUT HER 911 CALL?

WHEN DID THIS CITY GET SO ARROGANT THAT THE CITIZEN'S ARE TO BLAME AND THE VENDORS ARE GLORIOUS EVEN WHEN THE VENDORS SCREW UP?

  1. Chamblee and Doraville still have to transfer medical and fire calls to DeKalb. 911 centers are not cheap. Do your research. You think the city is paying money now? You haven't seen anything yet. It's amazing to me how everyone continues to say how much more they want done, but complain when they actually have to foot the bill. The U.S economy is a great example. We spend and spend to please everybody until we end up with nothing. You have 2 options. Take it one day at a time and invest carefully or rush like a child to do everything all at once and FAIL.
